The Tiara is a portable acoustic shell erected on the grounds of the Tippet Rise Art Center. Conceptualized by WIllem Boning and Alban Bassuet of ARUP Engineers, the shell is intended to reflect the sound from the stage to the audience without impeding their view of the incredible scenery. We worked with ARUP and Fire Tower Engineered Timber to develop the construction strategy, relying heavily on a shared computer model, then we created the shop drawings and fabricated all of the pieces in our shop, and have assembled the structure three times in various locations.
