Will’s Shed is the newest addition to campus at the Tippet Rise Art Center. It was designed and constructed to provide a covered dining area for approximately 150 guests. The intention of this pavilion was to be as open to the site as possible, while providing shade from the hot summer sun and protection against sudden wind and rain. Two sides of the pavilion are outfitted with glass sectional garage doors which can be brought down in inclement weather for protection without blocking the view.
Gunnstock Timber Frames was responsible for the architectural design, timber frame construction, and design and fabrication of all the tables and benches for the dining area.
The timber frame was constructed out of Douglas Fir, and the structure will be clad in cedar board and batten with a rusted weathering steel corrugated roof.
