This 7,000 square foot home was designed to make use of and expand upon an existing foundation. The home is what we call a hybrid home, using a combination of timber frame and structural insulated panels (SIPs) for the structure. We prioritized timber elements to the spaces with the greatest impact such as the kitchen, great room, master bedroom and wrap around porches.
This frame was constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery and was crafted from what is referred to as "white woods"; Sitka Spruce, Hemlock and Western White Fir.
